Treatment for traumatic brain injury

Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury is a sudden brain injury caused by an external physical force, such as a car accident or fall, for which there is currently no approved treatment. 1.5 million people experience a traumatic brain injury each year, resulting in 52,000 deaths and 80,000 people with permanent severe neurological disabilities.

Zincure's new drug is expected to have significant neuroprotective effects in traumatic brain injury, preventing secondary brain damage when used in conjunction with emergency surgery.  By preventing early neuronal death caused by overexposure to zinc in the mechanism of severe brain injury, we expect to reduce sequelae disability.
